A resource and running commentary on stylish London

Summer Fashion Footnote

As you have gathered from some of my previous posts, Gabriella Ligenza is one of my favourite shops in London.

Since last summer I have been sporting a pair of black raffia tasselled loafers. Every once in a while I pop into the store to see if their stock has been replenished. Claire, the ever so amiable shop manager, has seen me so many times, that, fortunately, the moment something new arrives, she gives me a call.

The expression “do not judge a book by its cover” applies to this boutique, which,  from the outside looks like a magnificent hat shop. Enter, and you are certain to find beautiful shawls made of the softest cashmere, vintage Italian jewellery, woven leather handbags and shoes. As with everything Gabriella designs, nothing is plain or ordinary. Take a look at her latest collection of ballerina flats below…

I could not resist this pair!

They are extremely comfortable and will add a little pizzazz to a shoe concept that has become a bit too pedestrian (no pun intended) for my taste.

Unfortunately not. I am sure they could send you a pair. They run narrow and need to be sized down. I usually wear a 39 and bought a 38.
