A resource and running commentary on stylish London

The freshest Burrata this side of Puglia

You can never go back to Mozzarella once you have tried the unctuous, creamy texture of Puglian Burrata. Fortunately, for those of us living in London, all we need to do is stop by La Masseria located at 69 Upper Berkeley Street, Marylebone. The shop sells all sorts of products from Puglia; pasta, sauces, cakes, as well as terrific coffee, pastries and sandwiches. This unpretentious delicatessen has been open since 2007. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming. I  have been told by one of them that their burrata is so good, it is supplied to all the best restaurants in London.

Don’t take my word for it, go in and try it!

You cannot beat a bowl of fresh pasta or homemade lasagne, in-between a shopping spree at Primark or a breeze through Topshop. The friendly atmosphere is a result of customers having to sit around a long central table in the middle of shop. No one seems to mind very much. Downstairs on the lower ground floor you will find an array of unusual pastas, tomato sauces, delicious olive oils, biscottis and my beloved secret ingredient, Star Brand ai Funghi Porcini.

This little cube makes everything taste better!

If you get there, and they have run out of stock, try Waitrose. They have just added it to their assortment.
